It is a mix of large and small files, the small files being slow I know is to be expected, but I tried to only transfer the large files and that was only around 20Mb/s at most and typically slower, when on Windows 11 they were quite consistently at like 130Mb/s.Īdditionally, when I start the transfer through the web UI, using the local IP address, if I close out of or refresh the page I start the transfer on, the task monitor in the top right corner disappears (quite frankly even when I don't refresh or leave after starting a transfer, the Task Monitor window pops up, but it's blank even while transfers are in progress). Since then, I've been trying to alter settings and even factory reset the thing to try to get better speeds, but nothing works. Some issue occurred at some point and the transfer stopped before finishing, and because I couldn't tell where it stopped, I had to start it all over from the start since I didn't know which file only partially transferred. ![]() My first attempt to transfer ~2TB wasn't even close to finished after over 12 hours (a transfer that took maybe 4-5ish hours on Windows 11). Using both methods on my previous setup on Windows 11, I consistently saw speeds of at least ~100Mb/s. Whether I transfer from my computer (with the external SSD connected to it) over gigabit ethernet on the local network or directly connect the external SSD to the front USB port on the NAS, at MOST I've seen transfer speeds of around 50Mb/s, usually MUCH slower. At the moment, I know very little about apps or docker or plex or anything like that I'm solely trying to use it as a file server at the moment and I'll experiment further later. Currently, I just wanted to get my files transferred to it from an external 4TB SSD I backed everything up to. ![]() ![]() My Drivestor 4 Pro arrived yesterday and I had very little issue setting it up. I previous just used a storage pool with 4 drives on Windows 11 with whatever Windows' version of RAID 5 is, simply 3 drives for storage and 1 for redundancy and I decided to switch to a prebuilt NAS. I apologize in advance if this is a repost, I'm posting this in the wrong place, or if I leave any information out.
